As a Room Captain in Kid's Planet, you will advance our mission by facilitating a fun and engaging atmosphere that brings kids closer to Christ.
QUALIFICATIONS
• Have an active and growing relationship with Christ and enjoy a way of life that is Jesus-focused.
• 1-2 years of experience providing childcare in a school, daycare setting, or children’s ministry preferred.
• A certificate in early childhood education is a plus.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Communicate effectively with kids and fellow team members.
• Ability to adapt to facilitate fun events, challenges, and demonstrations.
• Enjoy working in an environment with multiple competing priorities.
• Have a flexible schedule and the ability to attend special church events.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Ensure the kid's environment is fun, inviting, and prepared for an amazing weekend experience.
• Deliver all weekend service elements with excellence and ensure all supplies are in place.
• Be the go-to person who ensures volunteer positions are covered, and they are prepared well in advance for the weekend play and activities.
• Actively recruit energetic people with a heart for kids to be a part of a growing Kids Planet. Volunteer team: walk alongside them, ensuring they also have an amazing weekend experience and encouraging them toward our discipleship pipeline.
• Provide guidance, feedback, and coaching to junior room captains on how to bring the curriculum and lesson activities to life with enthusiasm and excitability.
• Pour into your assigned volunteer team by continually training and keeping them updated on room/weekend plan changes and sharing Kids Planet's best practices.
• On occasion, you may also facilitate the onboarding experience for new team members within your room/environment.
• Be the point of contact for parents/guardians, ensuring they are aware of upcoming activities or deescalate any issues.
• Ensure the upkeep and overall care and cleaning protocols for the room/environment are up to Sagebrush excellence standards. This includes toys, furniture, and supplies.
• Provide updates to the Kids' Director regarding the effectiveness of weekend content and activities.
• Take on any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and align with our church values.
