Senior Accountant

Status: Part-Time, Hourly

We are seeking an experienced and detailed accounting professional to provide oversight and guidance as mid-level management for our Finance Department. This key team member will collaborate with and take direction from the Controller to provide essential support to our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team members in addition to assuring accuracy, quality, and timeliness in all accounting functions. 

QUALIFICATIONS

• Maintain a dynamic and growing relationship with Jesus Christ  
• 3-5 years of experience in an accounting profession and an Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, CPA or related certification strongly preferred. 
• • In lieu of 3-5 years of experience, a combination of experience and education will be considered. 
• Experience in non-profit accounting practices preferred.
• Familiarity with accounting software programs such as QuickBooks. 
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to balance competing priorities. 
• Excellent teamwork abilities necessary for collaboration on a small team. 
• Maintains a teachable mindset and communicates with tact and honesty.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Supervise and support Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable team members, providing direction and guidance. 
• Provide Quality Assurance for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions to ensure accuracy. 
• Post journal entries within the appropriate timeframe.  
• Reconcile bank statements. 
• Utilize extensive knowledge of best practices to act as a subject matter expert and advise team members. 
• Collaborate with the Controller to facilitate projects, assist with audits, year-end, and other functions as needed. 
• Uphold our commitment to excellence by identifying opportunities for improvement and utilizing a proactive approach to problem solving. 
• Work to eliminate duplication of effort and inefficiencies in processes.
