Sagebrush is a multisite church with multiple community locations based in Albuquerque, NM, and thriving online services that are reaching all across the world. Sagebrush offers a casual environment where people can experience contemporary worship and engage with one another through the teaching of the Bible. The mission of Sagebrush is to know Christ and to make Christ known.
The student director/pastor will oversee the health and well-being of the student body at their designated location. Through thought-provoking, spiritually uplifting messages, discipleship, and ongoing Christian education programs, you'll have the opportunity to reach one more student for Christ.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Have a dynamic and growing relationship with Christ and enjoy a way of life that is Jesus-focused.
- 1-3 years of experience in youth ministry, proven record of growing student ministries strongly preferred.
- Maintain a teachable mindset, open to new processes and ideas.
- Strong desire and passion to fulfill the Great Commission.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field is preferred but not required.
- Ability to connect with students quickly.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to balance competing priorities.
- Flexibility to attend school and community events to engage with students in environments outside of the church.
- Ability to balance competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Engage with students in an authentic way. Build rapport with students to talk with them about Christ.
- Be a disciple-maker. Look for opportunities in which you can pour into a student's spiritual walk and encourage them to invite friends.
- Be active in the community. Spend time building life-changing relationships with students through social activities at school, outreach efforts, and community events.
- Operate with the understanding that each student matters.
- Facilitate weekly gatherings for small group convos and mid-week get-togethers.
- Plan and facilitate events with engaging content and activities.
- Build a Team. Actively recruit and provide leadership to a team of campus volunteers to reach into students’ lives by whatever means possible.
- Be a point of contact for student ministry and oversee ministry programs in your designated area.
- Partner with our team of student pastors all over the state, who plan large-scale events to bring students together while creating space for them to share their stories and learn about Jesus on a more personal level.
- Remain committed to personal, professional, and spiritual growth.
- Take on any other duties needed to help drive our vision, fulfill our mission, and be in alignment with our church values.
At Sagebrush, you don't need to do this alone if you’ve recently graduated or haven't been in full-time ministry. Through our mentors, we will equip you for a lifetime of ministry. Mark 1:17 "Come, follow me," Jesus said, “and I will send you out to fish for people.”
